President Trump will take the world stage Tuesday as he addresses the United Nations General Assembly in New York City.

The speech comes as multiple conflicts, rising global energy prices and concerns around rapidly evolving artificial intelligence hang over the annual gathering. The Trump administration is also navigating scrutiny from the media and First Amendment advocates after the president barred three networks from the White House.

The Iran conflict and Russia’s war with Ukraine are expected to feature prominently as the president holds a packed slate of meetings with world leaders — including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, U.K. Prime Minister Andy Burnham, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and the heads of several Gulf countries — on the sidelines of the forum.

Trump is expected to sign a security deal with Greenland and Denmark after his remarks, which would establish a U.S. military presence on the arctic island.

The president met with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) and discussed immigration, affordability and policing a day earlier. Following the conversation, he said the mayor has “great potential.”

His Tuesday schedule also includes a policy meeting, a Shield of the Americas event and a closed-door meeting with Venezuelan leader Delcy Rodríguez.

“I’m pissed off,” Loomer wrote on the social platform X shortly after Trump met with Mamdani, who is New York City’s first Muslim mayor.
