Trump-Jeffrey Epstein Titanic statue appears on National Mall

A statue of President Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein as the characters Jack and Rose from the movie “Titanic” has appeared on the National Mall.

The statue depicts Trump as Jack and Epstein as Rose in a scene from the movie where Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet’s characters, who fall in love, stand at the front of the doomed ship. 

According to The Washington Post, the statue comes from an anonymous artists’ group titled “The Secret Handshake.”

It’s not the first time Trump and Epstein have been targeted.

Statues depicting Trump and Epstein were also spotted on the National Mall in September. A plaque between the two statues read “In Honor of Friendship Month,” followed by “We celebrate the long-lasting bond between President Donald J. Trump and his ‘closest friend,’ Jeffrey Epstein.”

When the White House was reached for comment on the “Titanic” statue, spokesperson Abigail Jackson said in a statement “[w]hen will these wealthy Democrat donors create sculptures of Democrats … who continued to solicit money and meetings from Epstein after he was convicted as a sex offender?””

In recent months, Trump and his administration have faced heat over their handling of files linked to Epstein from both sides of the aisle. The president’s former relationship with Epstein has also come under intense scrutiny.

Senators from both parties recently requested that the Government Accountability Office (GAO) review the Justice Department’s handling and release of documents connected to the investigation into Epstein, per a letter obtained by The Washington Post and CNBC.
