Trump amplifies China interference claim: ‘Unprecedented election security nightmare’ 

President Trump on Friday doubled down on his accusations of widespread voter fraud and interference by China in the 2020 presidential election in a series of social media posts.

Trump delivered a highly anticipated primetime address to the nation on Thursday, in which he unveiled his administration compiled new proof that the 2020 election, which he lost to former President Biden, had been “stolen.”

The trove of files released by the White House in conjunction with the 20-minute speech did not produce major revelatory weaknesses in the U.S. election system, according to several independent experts. 

The president revived the unsubstantiated claims late Friday, writing in one Truth Social post that they contain proof that the People’s Republic of China “carried out what is believed to be the largest compromise of election data in history” and alleged that Beijing illegally acquired 220 million U.S. voter files.
