Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Thursday said he spoke with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman about an agent at the company breaching the commonwealth’s health department website in June.

Albanese told reporters in New York City, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, that the agent gained access to the Medicare Statistics Reporting Service portal on June 18. No personal information was accessed from the platform, which displays aggregate data about health spending and drug subsidies.

He added that while there was “no broader compromise” from the hack, “this situation is obviously unacceptable.”

The prime minister noted to Altman that he was disappointed that his firm did not inform the Australian government before announcing the launch of a probe looking into the incident. He also panned the tech leader for not providing guidance........
