Meghan Markle says she’s ‘deeply distressed’ in response to child pornography allegations against her father

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and wife to Great Britain’s Prince Harry, has addressed the accusations against her father, who is being investigated over alleged possession of child sexual abuse material.

Meghan said she was “deeply distressed” by the news concerning 82-year-old Thomas Markle Sr. that has spread through tabloids in recent days. Meghan and her family recently returned to England after forfeiting their royal duties and living in the United States for a number of years.

“I am deeply distressed at the news that has come to light in the last 24 hours, and my thoughts are with any children who may have been harmed,” Markle wrote in a statement obtained by The Hill.
