The State Department on Saturday warned Americans in the Middle East to exercise caution, after the Iranian-backed Houthis launched an attack on the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh.

Citing “tensions” in the region, the State Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs said the security environment in the Middle East “remains complex with the potential for unforeseen escalation.”

The bureau wrote on social platform X, “Americans currently in the Middle East should exercise heightened vigilance and be aware of potential flight cancellations,........
