Major US airline temporarily cuts 6 routes due to spiking fuel prices

(KTLA) – American Airlines confirmed Wednesday that it’s suspending six North American routes as a result of elevated jet fuel prices driven by the ongoing war in Iran.

Four of these routes include nonstop flights out of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), with the other two out of Charlotte Douglas International in North Carolina.

The ongoing war in the Middle East has greatly impacted travelers in the skies this year, and airlines have been responding cautiously to the volatile oil and fuel costs by trimming schedules and adjusting prices in ways that will likely affect every type of traveler.

Airlines frequently adjust their schedules, but several major carriers appear to be reacting more aggressively to pain at the pump.
