Israel hits petrochemical plant in Iran ahead of Trump deadline
Israel hit a major petrochemical plant in southern Iran on Monday, just ahead of President Trump’s deadline for Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to all shipping traffic.
The Israeli military struck the largest petrochemical facility in Iran, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said, which is located in the South Pars natural gas field that Iran shares with Qatar.
The gas field, located in the Persian Gulf, is the largest in the world.
Iranian state media reported that there were no casualties and no significant damage.
The strikes, which hit the coastal town of Asaluyeh, mark the second time that the Israeli military has targeted the Iranian facility. Israel also........
