Rep. Cory Mills responds to expulsion talk in wake of Swalwell, Gonzales resignations

Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.) said Tuesday that he was not hearing anything about an upcoming vote to expel him from the House, despite an uptick in calls from his colleagues to expel him in wake of Reps. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) and Tony Gonzales (R-Texas) resigning from Congress over sexual misconduct allegations under threat of an expulsion vote.

“I don’t even fall into the category of Swalwell or Gonzales,” Mills told The Hill’s partners at NewsNation on Tuesday. 

Mills is being investigated by the House Ethics Committee for allegations of dating violence, campaign finance violations and more. Last year, the House batted down Rep. Nancy Mace’s (R-S.C.) resolution to censure him and remove him from committees by referring the matter to the committee.

But amid the uproar over sexual assault and misconduct allegations against Swalwell and renewed scrutiny of Gonzales, both of whom allegedly had sexual relationships with staff members in violation........
