US military intercepts 3 Iranian oil tankers

The U.S. military on Thursday said it had seized three tankers carrying oil from Iran, including one in the Indian Ocean overnight.

American forces boarded the M/T Majestic X, which the Pentagon described as a “sanctioned, stateless vessel,” according to a post on X.

The Pentagon also released footage that shows troops stepping from helicopters onto the vessel.

“We will continue global maritime enforcement to disrupt illicit networks and interdict vessels providing material support to Iran, wherever they operate,” the post said.

The tanker is the third seized by the U.S. this week amid Washington’s blockade on Iran’s trade by sea. A Navy destroyer is escorting the Iranian oil tanker Dorena after the U.S. said it had tried to violate the blockade, and U.S. troops boarded the M/T Tifani, another........
