The affected steam cleaners’ attachments can unexpectedly detach and expel hot water or steam, posing a “serious burn hazard,” according to the recall alert.
So far, Bissell says it has received 206 reports of hot water or steam unexpectedly escaping from the steam cleaners, including 161 reports of burn injuries. At least one of those injuries resulted in a second-degree burn.
Consumers should stop using the recalled steamers immediately and contact Bissell to receive free new attachments.
