Trump announces slate of Indiana endorsements ahead of May primary

President Trump on Tuesday announced a slate of endorsements for various Indiana state legislative races ahead of the state’s May primary. 

Although several of Trump’s endorsements, which were posted on his Truth Social account Tuesday afternoon, were previously announced, the president issued several new messages of support in the state’s House and Senate races.

Trump backed Republican Trevor De Vries in his bid to unseat incumbent state Sen. Dan Dernulc (R) in the state’s 1st Senate District as well as Republican Brian Schmutzler, who is seeking to beat state Sen. Linda Rogers (R). Both Dernulc and Rogers voted against the failed Trump-backed redistricting push in the state late last year.
