Beshear: Replacing Martin as DNC chief before midterms ‘would put far too much at risk’
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D) rejected the idea of immediately replacing Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Ken Martin, saying on Tuesday it “would put far too much at risk.”
“Ken Martin is going to be the leader of the DNC in the very least through these elections,” Beshear, seen as a potential 2028 presidential contender, told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins in an interview.
“We are 100 days out, and the idea that we would change or have a new election when we have elections coming up would put far too much at risk,” Beshear, the chair of the Democratic Governors Association (DGA), added.
Martin has faced increased scrutiny over his tenure at the national party and the DNC’s finances, which still lag that of the Republican National Committee (RNC).
