An 18-year-old Loyola University student was walking with her friends in a park early Thursday morning to “catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights” when an illegal alien reportedly approached her with a gun. Sheridan Gorman tried to run, but Jose Medina-Medina allegedly shot and killed her.

Gorman appears to be another victim in a long list of individuals who should — and could — be alive today if not for Democrats’ suicidal immigration policies.

Medina-Medina was apprehended at the border on May 9, 2023, but was “released into the country under the Biden administration,” according to the Department of Homeland Security. Less than two months later, Medina-Medina was “released again on June 19, 2023, following an arrest for shoplifting in Chicago, Illinois.”

Upon his illegal entry, Medina-Medina should have faced the consequence of immediate deportation. Even if Medina-Medina wanted to file an asylum claim, law enforcement should have forced him to remain in Mexico while his claim........
