Mexican-American GOP Rep Touts Border Achievements and Tax Deductions During RNC Speech

Rep. Monica De La Cruz, R-Texas, championed historic border achievements and the Working Families Tax Cuts during her speech at the Republican National Convention in Dallas, Texas, on Wednesday.

De La Cruz, who opened her speech by talking about the dignity of work and patriotism instilled in her by her grandfather, asserted that under Republican control, the United States, specifically its border states, has been able to become “safer than ever.”

“[Under former President Joe Biden], groceries went up 20%, rent ate the whole paycheck, and an open border brought fentanyl into our schools and drug cartels into our neighborhoods,” De La Cruz said.
