Former New York City Mayor Eric Adams seems to be a real trickster.

Unlike most other ex-mayors, Adams has apparently tried to make successor Zohran Mamdani‘s transition as frustrating as possible.

Mere hours before he departed the office before New Year’s, Adams created a legally protected commission filled with his loyalists, Politico reported. The commission will explore “a ballot question about open primaries” that could, in theory, make it harder for Mamdani to win a possible second term, according to the outlet.
