Once again, I am disgusted by the lack of a proper answer from Dundee City Council when asked a reasonable question.

You might think a bus shelter at Dundee’s Slessor Gardens is a good idea, or you might not.

To make up your mind, you need information.

But you don’t get that. And it isn’t the fault of the journalists in this city.

Allow me to lift the lid on how local news journalism works.

To write a responsible local newspaper story, you need two basic things: facts and reasons.

Facts are uncovered (such as the fact Ember buses want a shelter) and reasons are given (to keep passengers dry).

Passengers explain their view (more reasons).

In this city’s newspapers, proper journalism practices are strictly adhered to.

Reporters gather the facts and reasons then, because responsible journalism requires balance........
