My View: 'It takes a village' is still an appropriate adage
The so-called village theory of cooperatively raising children warms my heart and sustains my optimism. Most members of society love and care about all children as they would their own. Neighbors who keep an eye on the kiddos, help them on and off the bus, open their homes as safe havens, and care about their lives are integral components of extended societal families. Shared DNA is not required.
Linda Cascio McNamara, of Williamsville, enjoys her extended family of neighbors.
