Buffalonians experienced a deep chord of sadness when the news of Michael Tilson Thomas’ death came last month. Those lucky enough to see the young maestro conducting the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra during his 1971-79 reign as music director were consoled by their vivid memories.
