One of the South's most celebrated chefs debuts his first Calif. restaurant
James Beard Award-winning chef Sean Brock at Darling.
One of the South’s best-known chefs is heading for California shores with the splashy opening of his first West Coast venture this weekend. On Aug. 31, James Beard Award-winning chef Sean Brock is scheduled to debut Darling in West Hollywood.
The restaurant, which will focus on California ingredients and live-fire cooking, is a significant departure for Brock, who’s perhaps best known for his long tenure at Husk, with locations in Charleston, Nashville and Savannah. As owner and chef, Brock championed Southern ingredients and historic foodways from deep within Appalachia, which ultimately led to a starring role in a 2019 episode of Netflix’s famous food documentary series “Chef’s Table.”
