With a colorful history dating back to 1908, the Hotel Utah Saloon has lived many lives. Now, the historic SoMa dive bar and music venue is ready to start another one: After more than 20 years of running the bar, Andrea Cochran tells SFGATE that she and co-owners Mohamed Bacchus and Damian Samuel are looking to sell. 

“At some point, people start thinking about retiring and moving on and doing something different,” Cochran said in a phone call Friday. “And it’s just a feeling that a music venue probably periodically needs revitalization and new people.”

While she said they hope to find a new owner by the end of the year, the owners are taking their time with the search. “It’s going to be a very special person,” Cochran said. Their current asking price for the business is $235,000, which includes the bar only (while the Hotel........
