Dolly Parton's secret California hideaway hits the market

A Central Coast home once owned by Dolly Parton has hit the market. The property, on the corner of Alisal Road and Maple Avenue in the heart of Solvang, is listed for just under $2 million.
Built in 1920, the property features three separate small units totaling around 2,500 square feet and showcases a signature Solvang windmill along with a plaque that is a tribute to Parton. The property’s owner, real estate developer Cris Lapp, is also the current listing agent.

Lapp purchased the property in 2022 for around $1.3 million and left much of it intact from the Parton era. He also made surgical improvements to showcase Parton lore, such as installing a custom-made window above the front door to the main house that reads “Dolly,” with one of her signature butterflies flitting across.

Starting around 2004, Parton reportedly owned the home for about a decade in secret, not far from Solvang’s main drag, Mission Drive.
