The United Way’s 2025 campaign has had a slower growth week as we wait for final numbers to come in. We are now at $959,000, or 64 per cent of our $1.5-million goal.

“We remain hopeful, but have growing concern that this year’s campaign may fall short of its goal. Without increased support, we may have to make difficult decisions to reduce or cut funding to essential community programs,” said volunteer campaign chairperson Mike Edgar.

“If you have not donated, please seriously consider it, we are in a time when more people in our community are relying on services for basic needs,” he added.

You can call the United Way office for ways to donate. Every donation, no matter the size, helps protect the programs that those in need in our community rely on.

Nova is wrapping up their campaign and we expect to see their final numbers early next week. Early indications are encouraging, and we’re hopeful it will result in a big jump on our fundraising thermometer. Nova........
