As I sit here at my computer the weather is 93 degrees Fahrenheit (33 degrees C).

This got me thinking of summer holidays. I assume many of you are already organized with your plans made, time off at work scheduled, activities researched and cost estimated.

These days with the high cost of living the necessity for planning ahead is crucial. Accommodations, food, air fare, activity costs and gas prices have risen drastically, which will limit plans for many of us. What we would like to do and where to go is decidedly impacted by what we can afford.

I have in the past talked about what is on offer for us in our own area, which decidedly lessens the expense of flights, accommodations and gas, leaving a bit more to spend on entrance fees and excellent food. Day trips can be just as much fun in Norfolk County, Norwich Township, Oxford County and surrounding areas as in much more distant options. Fun and relaxation does not have to depend on how much we spend.
