Four paying subscribers filed the lawsuit in federal court, arguing the companies violated antitrust law by coordinating to restrain AI development

Four paying subscribers to leading AI services filed a federal antitrust lawsuit Friday against Anthropic, OpenAI, Google $GOOGL, and SpaceXAI, claiming the companies made an illegal agreement to slow the pace of their respective AI development. The lawsuit was filed in federal court in the Northern District of California and contends that the alleged coordination damaged consumers by diminishing the value of their paid AI subscriptions.
The complaint centers on Sept. 12, when Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei published an essay calling for industrywide cooperation on decelerating AI capabilities in favor of safety.........
