GAO found DOGE overstated or couldn't back up its $110 billion in claimed savings

The Government Accountability Office found that DOGE's claimed $110 billion in savings from contract, grant, and lease terminations were undermined by incorrect estimates, unverifiable calculations, and a lack of transparency about methodology.

According to the GAO report, auditors examined the savings figures DOGE posted to its "Wall of Receipts" website covering the period from January 20, 2025, through July 7, 2026. The watchdog found that DOGE did not use its stated methodology to calculate the majority of savings associated with terminated........
