GTA 6's immaculate fashion finally lets a man drag himself out of the gutter
Rockstar caught my eye when it opened pre-orders for GTA 6 with a look at some of the game's various clothing options. Not so much Lucia's. Her outfits seem like a nice mix of flash and casual, without straying too far into misogynistic gangland chic like GTA would've done in the past. Lucia's the star of the show, though, so I expected that. What really caught my eye was Jason Duval, or more to the point, the fact that he actually looked good. Male characters dressing well is not normal for GTA, and this is a long-overdue change.
Grand Theft Auto's relationship with fashion up to this point has been a sorry one. GTA 3 sets you loose in a single outfit — a manky puffer jacket and some green cargo pants. Vice City gives you options, but they kinda suck. Tommy's default floral print shirt looks sleazy, but his casual outfit is fairly decent, a nice, unstained T-shirt with a normal-looking pair of jeans. The rest seem like jokes, last-minute costumes you'd grab on sale at a party store if you wanted to dress like a........
