Watch the Weapons director's wildly misunderstood horror debut on Netflix before it disappears
Zach Cregger’s Weapons is, without a doubt, a triumph, a critical darling and box-office success that hits hard and leaves plenty to discuss afterward. But for me, it doesn't knock Cregger’s first foray into the horror scene off its perch: The gut-churningly uncomfortable 2022 thriller Barbarian is still my personal favorite of his movies.
Polygon’s review of Barbarian describes it as a film “best approached by an audience that knows as little as possible about it.” I agree: If you’re one of the few out there who haven’t watched Cregger’s horror debut, then close this window and head straight to Netflix. You only have a short window to watch it before it leaves the platform on Sep. 1.
I recently revisited it myself — after all, the film has never had a physical release, and I don’t know when I’ll be able to watch it again. And I loved it just as much the first, second, and third time I saw........
