I’m happy you chose to spend your hard-earned vacation dollars in our humble home.

Islanders can be a bit shy and old-fashioned around strangers at first, but we are, by and large, a warm and welcoming folk. We repay kindness in multitudes. We’ll go out of our way to help you if you need it. We’re great fun at parties, too.

But before you start your time with us, there are a few ground rules and helpful tips to go over first.

Following this completely scientifically tabulated guide, which is totally not just a list of my personal tourist-centric opinions and pet peeves, will keep you on most Islanders’ good sides. Or at least mine.
