Taking up ‘losing’ causes and why we do it
I screwed up my courage, overcame my disdain, left my cellphone at home and went to Detroit. For the weekend.

As a patriotic Canadian, disgusted by the America of today and its bullying ways, warmongering and disgusting leadership, I had taken the pledge to stop buying American as much as I could and stop travelling there at any time.
Even a favourite younger brother couldn’t entice me to go to Arizona this winter for some climate warmth.
The motivation for reversing my pledge at this time was strong.
