New food pantry opens at Wesley United Church
A food pantry is a place where those in need can get basic supplies to help them out.
It has been a long time coming and has not been easy.
As Buckhorn District Lions Club president Louis Melizan reminds us, “anything worth doing is rarely easy and this is no exception.”
Melizan adds that many of us may know someone who needs a little help or someone who can offer a little help. The Lions hope to bring these people closer together with the food pantry.
Those at Wesley United Church, especially Reverend Rodney and Bert Bryson, recognized the value of the efforts being made by the Lions led by events co-ordinator Janet Clarkson, and have wholeheartedly supported this program. The team lead, Gerry Bleau, has stepped in to ensure continued success. Bleau is most amazed by the donations that have been made to stock the pantry. Over $6,000 has been donated.........
