In mid-July the Asphodel Norwood Library introduced its Nature Discovery Backpack Program with a special day of events held at the Asphodel Park. This unique initiative was created by Watersheds Canada and is designed to get kids learning about local flora and fauna.

Children have the opportunity to borrow a number of different Nature Backpacks, each one containing a different collection of tools and supplies to spark their interest in a specific subject. Asphodel Norwood’s packs include topics such as: Things with Wings, Forest Life, Soil Geology and The Night Sky. The library has also stocked their shelves with a selection of books on the various topics that are available to borrow.
