A renowned and multi-award winning rock band received a very special hometown tribute on May 5 — a new sign added to the village welcome signs, proudly announcing to travellers that Norwood is the home of Three Days Grace.

Anyone who follows the band will undoubtedly know already the band was formed in the village. Many of its members grew up in the village and still have homes and family in the community.

The idea for the sign was presented to council by a community member after attending one of the bands sold out concerts a few weeks ago. The experience helped to demonstrate the lofty height of success that the band has achieved and that a fitting tribute was needed to recognize the remarkably talented group of musicians and celebrate their community roots.

The band had actually just finished two concerts in Hamilton and Oshawa over the weekend and was home in Norwood filming........
