Irish eyes will be smiling in Douro on March 7
The Peterborough Canadian Irish Club will hold its annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration Saturday, March 7 from 1 until 6 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Douro Parish Hall. The afternoon will include live entertainment, kids’ activities from 1 until 3 p.m. and delicious food. Musical entertainment will be provided by Hunt the Hare, Catherine O’Hara and Group, Kathy Young, Roy Boys, and Brendan Sheridan.
The Peterborough Canadian Irish Club is a non-profit organization, established in September 1975. The group strives to promote and preserve Irish heritage by fostering friendship and goodwill among its members, the people of Ireland, and like-minded organizations and surrounding communities.

The cost of tickets for members for the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration is $15 for singles and $25 for a family; and for nonmembers the cost is $20 for singles and $30 for a family.

Meals to Go fundraiser
This month is Community Care’s March for Meals and its popular Meals to Go fundraiser will be back Wednesday, March 25, with orders due by noon on Friday, March 13. Order a delicious meal of a Taco Bowl and dessert, and have it delivered to your workplace.
Every meal purchased helps support Community Care’s Meals on Wheels program that ensures local seniors and adults with physical challenges continue to receive nutritious meals and friendly visits year-round.
Please note that this fundraiser is for group orders only; available to workplaces and organizations across the city of Peterborough and Lakefield.
Vegetarian, vegan and lactose-free options are available.
The cost is $15 per meal. Choose a workplace representative to collect orders and payment and then submit a single group order online while also choosing a preferred delivery time. Your order will be delivered fresh at your selected time on March 25.

Tickets for Market Hall Performing Arts Centre’s Winter 50/50 raffle are now on sale and will continue to be available until Sunday, May 31. The draw takes place Tuesday, June 2.
The funds raised by this raffle directly go to support Market Hall’s mission to establish, operate, and maintain a facility for performing and visual arts in the City of Peterborough. Profits will be used to support the operations of the Market Hall, including artist fees.
Ticket prices are: 30 for $50, eight for $20, three for $10, or one for $5. Ticket purchasers must be 18 years of age or older and residents of Ontario. The winner will be contacted to claim their prize.

Trail Trackers Search and Rescue is hosting an Easter Pet Photo Shoot fundraiser Saturday, March 28 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Pet Value, 863 Chemong Rd. Photos will be taken with an Easter backdrop and the Easter Bunny will be in attendance.
The cost is by donation. You will receive a digital copy of your photo by email after the event. All proceeds go to support Trail Trackers.
Tail Trackers is a volunteer run registered charity, based out of the Kawartha Lakes, that focuses on locating and securing lost or abandoned pets. They utilize skilled volunteers, advanced tracking equipment and compassion for animals.
