Mansfield Road. Even hearing the name of this dreaded Nottingham route is enough to elicit a shudder in me.

As a very frequent commuter into the city from north Nottinghamshire, Mansfield Road and I have become all too well acquainted over the years. Driving along it has become a necessary evil, with the only other realistic route being a trek through Newark's farcical morning traffic.

Public transport is also a no go given the lack of frequent and reliable connections from parts of north........
