RSPB Strumpshaw Fen, a 450-hectare wetland in the heart of the Norfolk Broads, has become a vital sanctuary for some of England’s most threatened species, including bitterns, cranes, lapwings, and redshanks.

It also serves as a key stronghold for the swallowtail butterfly, thanks to conservation efforts that promote the growth of milk parsley, the butterfly’s caterpillar food plant.
