David Fish, 42, first met the woman when he was employed to care for her husband until he died in 2019.

Norwich Crown Court heard Fish was referred to by the victim as her "grandson" after he continued to befriend her years after the woman became a widow.

Fish, who had been given access to bankcards belonging to the victim, aged in her 80s, went onto make more than 200 cash withdrawals between January 2023 and August 2024.

His deception came to light after a social worker learnt from the woman that money had been taken and contacted the police.
