John McDonnell, 44, Daniel Carroll, 29, and Jonathan Bristow, 46, set upon Matthew Griggs twice in the space of an hour.

The 38-year-old died of his injuries four days later in the tent where he was living in Sprowston.

The group - which also included the now deceased Andrew Gough, and then 47 - were angry with Mr Griggs as they believed he had inadvertently brought attention on them after they stole alcohol from the BP service station on Plumstead Road, Norwich.

Mr Griggs suffered fractured ribs in the attacks on September 19, 2023, and died as a result of his injuries on September 23.

McDonnell, of Recorder Road, Carroll, of no fixed address, and Bristow, latterly of Trafalgar Street, appeared at Norwich Crown Court for sentencing on Friday.

It was after they were found guilty of manslaughter following a trial which ended in April.

Jailing Carroll, who also admitted a separate robbery offence, for 10 years, McDonnell for eight years and Bristow for eight years, Judge Anthony Bate said it was a "tragic case" involving a "much missed son, brother and partner".
