Women with 286 previous offences back in court after holding open can of cider

Marianne Cullerton, who has previously committed 286 offences, recently appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court after failing to attend an earlier hearing on April 10.

It was heard the 42-year-old, of Union Street, had arrived drunk on the day and was refused entry to the hearing.

Later, while in custody, she was brought before magistrates and admitted failing to comply with a community protection notice.

During the proceedings, her lengthy offending history was revealed to the court.

And of her 286 offences, the most notorious came in 2012 when she was jailed for four years at Durham Crown Court after admitting to arson and being reckless as to whether life was endangered.

Before the fire, Cullerton had telephoned emergency services from a phone box and proceeded to sing........
