Landlords battle over pub car park overspill comes to an end
Spencer Gray, landlord to both the closed Angel Gardens pub and neighbouring AutoShop car dealership in Angel Road, has withdrawn his appeal against Norwich City Council.
Mr Gray took his grievances to planning inspectors over the right to keep cars from the auto shop on the pub's forecourt in May last year, after being dealt an enforcement notice from City Hall.

Neighbours alerted the authorities when vehicles started popping up in the former pub with ‘for sale’ signs in their windows.
City Hall ordered Mr Gray to move the cars because he did not have the permission needed.
The decision to withdraw the appeal comes as the landlord caused further contention by lodging demolition plans with the council in December last year to make way for nine new homes.
The bid has been met with backlash from locals.
Pub campaigners from the Norfolk and Norwich branch of the Campaign for Real Ale are also fighting to save Angel Gardens.
