Under the scheme 411 cells are to be installed on three buildings at Norwich Community Hospital on Bowthorpe Road.

The scheme proposes 198 panels on the Unit 15 building, 129 on the Mulberry Unit and another 84 on a roof yet to be confirmed.

The hospital has recently expanded with a £19m unit being built at the site.

The Willow Therapy Unit at Norwich Community Hospital is a new 48-bed unit aimed at reducing the amount of time patients spend in acute hospitals in the county, by providing step-down care to help people return home after treatment.

The facility was built in a factory in Northumberland before being transported to the site piece by piece.

Plans for the project were unveiled in August 2023.

Delays in securing planning permission meant the project was pushed back, while complications in construction resulted in further stalling.

The facility opened in March last year.
