The Mitre Bowls Club, who are being kicked off their green in Earlham Road by East Church, have already appealed to the Bishop of Norwich and the Archdeacon to join their battle to remain in their clubhouse. 

But the bowlers said they are prepared to go higher and approach King Charles, head of the Church of England, if needed in their fight to stay at the ground which they have been at for 125 years. 

Neville Warnes, 63, vice president of the club, said: "We are definitely continuing the fight. We will go all the way to the top. We will go to the King if we have to.

"We have gone to the Bishop and he is passing it on to the Archdeacon.

"We are asking everyone to put pressure on to get the eviction overturned.

"The support we have had has been wonderful. We have had support from people all........
