Major roadworks to be aware of in Norwich in March
Here are five major roadworks projects to be aware of this month.

Parts of Edward Street and Magdalen Street were closed in February for demolition work at Anglia Square.
These closures will be in place until March 15 and are required to enable demolition activity to be carried out safely and to protect public safety.
The changes are part of a £350 million revamp of Anglia Square that will include the construction of 1,100 new homes and a range of leisure, retail and community spaces.

Cambridge Street in the Golden Triangle will be blocked off between March 9 and March 13, to allow extensive repairs to the road and pavements, costing £11,381
The work will be carried out from 9am to 4pm, but some access will be possible via Unthank Road or Brunswick Road.
Temporary parking restrictions will be in place during these hours and vehicles will need to be moved to ensure access for work crews.

There is an emergency gas main replacement ongoing on the road until March 11.
No vehicles are allowed through the section between Recorder Road and Stuart Gardens from 7am to 6pm.
Outside those hours, the road is open, with steel plates over any dug‑up sections and access for homes and businesses allowed during working hours.
4. Unthank Road and Christchurch Road

Norfolk County Council has been working on the Unthank Road and Christchurch Road junction in Norwich.
The work will see the existing traffic lights at the junction replaced and upgraded, while a new puffin crossing for pedestrians will be installed on Christchurch Road.
Towards the end of the work, from March 4, the entire junction will need to be shut for three days so resurfacing work can be carried out.
Diversions will be in place for drivers.

Between College Road and Portersfield Road, the road is closed to vehicles so Anglian Water can replace old lead water pipes.
This work started on February 23 and is expected to run until April 2, with pedestrians still being able to go through the area.
The suggested diversion goes via Portersfield Road, Avenue Road and finally to College Road to get around the closure.
