Norfolk County Council’s Hospitality Matters scheme is part of a £1 million package to support the county’s high streets.

Hospitality businesses are invited to take part in training courses and could be eligible for a business improvement grant of up to £1,000.

The workshops will be both in-person and online, covering everything from marketing to menu design and seasonal staffing.

Courses will run from May to June for the first cohort, and from September to October for the second.

A follow-up high-growth programme will also be offered to 24 businesses, with a further business growth grant of up to £2,500.

More than 120 retailers and businesses gathered at Thursford last month for the launch of the scheme at the council’s Norfolk Market Towns Conference.

Retail Excellence courses are also available for high street businesses outside the hospitality sector as part of the package of support.
