Yogi Government’s Matra Shakti Samman Yatra

The Uttar Pradesh government has expanded its women-focused mobility schemes with free bus travel for women aged 60 and above and special travel benefits during Raksha Bandhan. The state has also announced plans to provide scooties to 50,000 undergraduate women students later this year.

When the Chief Minister launched the scheme in Lucknow on Wednesday, it was, in a way, a tribute to Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, who was known for her just governance, compassion and commitment. By providing free bus travel to mothers and sisters aged 60 years and above, the Yogi government has made Devi Ahilyabai a symbol of respect for senior and elderly women in society.
