Record-breaking Indian debutants to feature at World Para Athletics Championships
New Delhi: A record-breaking 35 Indian debutants will feature at the World Para Athletics Championships to be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi from September 27 to October 5.
Among the first-timers is Mahendra Gurjar, who scripted a world record with a throw of 61.17m in the men’s F42 javelin at the Nottwil Grand Prix in Switzerland earlier this year.
Gurjar is sweating it out ahead of the marquee Para Athletics tournament with intense training sessions in Patiala. The ace para-athlete is eager to make a mark in his maiden World Championships appearance.
