Meet Claude code security: The AI that broke global tech stocks today

Anthropic has introduced Claude Code Security to scan and fix software vulnerabilities like a human security researcher. This powerful new AI tool instantly triggered a massive stock market crash for traditional cybersecurity companies. While it promises to help defenders move much faster, experts are worried the exact same technology might also empower hackers.

New Delhi: Recently, Anthropic’s Claude Cowork tool triggered a broad selloff across enterprise software stocks, as investors panicked that AI tools like Claude would render traditional enterprise software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies obsolete. While Dario Amodei, the CEO of Anthropic was at India AI Impact Summit 2026, the company dropped a massive update on Friday night (IST). Today, as the day begins the dust is still settling. They announced a brand new product called Claude Code Security. This is their first dedicated security product. It is basically an AI tool that looks for software bugs and fixes them. I honestly did not expect it to hit the industry this hard but it absolutely shattered the stock market for traditional cybersecurity firms.
