Hugging Face launches Microduck AI robot at $399 with camera, LiDAR and 15 motors

Hugging Face’s Pollen Robotics team has launched Microduck, a small biped AI robot built for developers, students and robotics experiments. It can walk, crouch, skate, grab objects and recover from several fall positions.

Hugging Face is expanding its push into consumer robotics with Microduck, a small biped robot that walks, crouches, picks up objects and can even get back on its feet after some common falls. The robot has been developed by Pollen Robotics, the Bordeaux-based robotics team that joined Hugging Face in April 2025.

Microduck pre-orders opened on August 27 at an introductory price of $399 before taxes and shipping, which is roughly ₹35,000 before local duties and other charges. The first deliveries are targeted before Christmas 2026, with North America and Europe among the initial markets. There is no India launch announced at this stage.

What exactly is Microduck?

Microduck stands just 25 cm tall and weighs under 800 grams. Its design looks closer to a small mechanical duck than the humanoid robots we usually see in AI demonstrations.

It has 15 motors controlling its legs, head and neck. The robot can walk with a distinctive waddle, sit, crouch and use roller........
