New Delhi: The International Cricket Council won’t accept Pakistan’s stance of not playing against India in the T20 World Cup and has issued a warning against it, which would have “significant and long-term”.

Pakistan announced earlier on Sunday that they would boycott their 2026 T20 World Cup match against arch-rivals India on February 15 in Colonmbo but will play in their other group stage matches.

“The Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan grants approval to the Pakistan Cricket Team to participate in the ICC World T20 2026,” it was announced on Sunday.

“…however, the Pakistan Cricket Team shall not take the field in the match scheduled on 15th February 2026 against India,” the government wrote on X.

Pakistan didn’t provide a reason for their pull-out from the Indian match........
