Not just image makeover, RJD also needs a growth roadmap to impact Bihar elections!
New Delhi: Jayant Raj Kuswaha, Minister for Rural Work in the Nitish Kumar cabinet in Bihar on Thursday said that the ruling NDA will win at least 225 seats in the assembly elections later this year. Addressing a press conference in Sasaram, Kushwaha said that a special package for Bihar in the recent Union Budget would prompt people to once again vote for the double-engine government. When asked about the prospects of the RJD-led Mahagathabandhan, the minister said that it will be difficult for them to even cross 20 seats.
While this may be a big exaggeration by the young minister, RJD would certainly have to work harder and strategically to counter BJP and its allies. Going by the 2020 elections where RJD missed the bus despite emerging as the largest party in the state, (75 seats in the 243-member House), social engineering alone would not be enough for the Mahagathbandhan to unseat NDA in Bihar.
